International Animal Exchange Record Keeping/ Social Media/ Guest Relations Intern
Key Areas of Responsibility
For this Position: Must have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and be able to pass pre-employment screening, must have valid Driver's License OR State ID. Internship is Paid, full-time, working 32-40 hours a week, Monday-Friday, flexible on scheduling if still in school. Job is in an in-office setting in Royal Oak, MI. Opportunities to work at the Zoo in Port Clinton, Ohio during internship. Internship available for credit if needed.
Description:
The Record Keeping/Social Media/ Guest Relations Intern will assist office staff with documentation, filing, social media outreach and guest services, including management/upkeep of online record keeping databases.
Intern tasks can also consist of:
- Guest Services- issuing, redeeming tickets and/or making reservations through ticketing platform online
- Assisting with permitting process for animal transports
- Responding to customer feedback and inquiries through email and phone
- Answering FAQS about Zoo for customers through the phone and online
- Creation of promotional content through Facebook and online marketing program
- Social media advertising through Google and Facebook
- Managing and updating of website or willingness to learn
- Answering phones and directing calls to appropriate personnel
- Coordinate season ticket trades with radio, tv and print companies
- Management of customer email database
- Production of Excel spreadsheets/templates
- Filing and copying
- Taking messages
- Mailing
- Personal assistant duties to the owner
- Use of personal vehicle to run errands (mile reimbursement offered)
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications

- Ability to adhere to the company's existing record keeping policies and processes
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as a Team Member
- Enthusiasm and willingness to learn new skills, tasks, etc.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office software; Word and Excel are strongly preferred
- Familiarity with ZIMS (Species360)
- Background in Zoology or Natural Resources is a plus
