International Animal Exchange Management Intern

Overall Responsibility

Provides support to African Safari and International Animal Exchange, Inc.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Assist Staff in:

  • Prepare AZA Accreditation
  • Typing Agreements as needed
  • File Purchase Order and Sales
  • Closing Purchased Order and Sales as animals are purchased or shipped
  • ZIMS specimen entries into ARKS
  • Research studbook keepers request on specimens
  • Research registrars request on specimens
  • Other responsibilities as management see fit
  • Conference filing, registration
  • Inventory
  • Transport and fleet planning
  • Assist in USDA and USDI compliance

General Duties

  • Daily Report with summary of items completed during the day including any pending tasks and days off
  • Processing faxes
  • Emptying managements out box as needed
  • Answering the phone
  • Emptying the phone voicemail as needed
  • Filing as needed throughout the office
  • Mailing packages (Federal Express, UPS, and USPS) as needed


  • Strong communication skills using phones, email, and fax
  • Good organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Strong customer service skills required
  • May have to travel to Ohio to work for special events for African Safari Occasionally
  • Flexible and Cooperative
