M.S. in Marine Biology, University of Alaska Fairbanks, 2014

Concentration: Zoo & Aquarium Science

I am now working on a Masters at the University of Alaska Fairbanks in Marine Biology studying the long term effects of research captivity on Steller sea lions (Eumetopias jubatus) in partnership with the Alaska SeaLife Center. My research focuses on mark-recapture studies and physiological predictors of survival in temporarily captive sea lions under the direction of Dr. Jo-Ann Mellish. I had been lucky enough to begin with this project as an intern (yes, that degree requirement we all love so much) and hope to continue on with it after this degree is finished.
